Sept. 29, 2010

          Today was a pretty crazy day...Jack had today off from work, which was a nice change, but it didn't quite go as expected.  He was supposed to just rest, train (lululemon run club), and go to the chiropractor, but when he was trying to get a blog in for the day...his computer CRASHED!!! Craziness!!  Luckily, everyone except Terry, Jack, and I had the day off from training today so were able to move our schedules around freely.


Terry is gone on a business trip so he has special travel WOD's prescribed for him.  Today, he did what's called the "Invisible Fran", courtesy of Crossfit One World's blog. Thank you!!!

That is: 21-15-9
     Thrusters (no weight)
      Pushups

He did it in an amazing 2:09!!!

Jack's WOD was a 20 min. AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)

   10 Push Press (115 lbs)
   10 KBS (53 lbs)
   10 Box Jumps (24")

He completed 7 rounds + 8 push press.  Good job!!






And here was my WOD...

10 Medicine Ball Thruster (15 lbs)
10 KBS (20 lbs)
10 Ab Mat Situps

"Life's a game of inches."

Live life now, don't wait. Better to strive, push, and work than to live with regret. Fight for that inch, fight with everything you got! Nothing in this world is given to us, and life was never meant to be easy. The sooner you come to peace with this the better you will be. Be somebody. Be someone. Inspire the people around you. Help someone in need. Give your knowledge freely. Speak your mind, and stand up for yourself. Touch a life. Love. Do these things and do them from the heart. That is what this life is about. It is not about money, or what you drive. Its not about your house, or your possessions. Its about us. Living, breathing, loving. Its about your family. Your friends. Your life. It's your life. Today started with Matt returning for a second session and Terry getting a WOD in before he leaves on a business trip.  Terry's WOD was similar to Mine and Danyelle's last night. It read like this:

WOD:
-10 deadlifts (95lbs)
-10 pushups
10 rounds for time

Terry did awesome as usual smashing his workout!!! He crushed it with a 10:28!!!
I am so proud of Matt, he is making a huge effort to turn his life around. Two days of training and two days no cigarettes!!! Keep it up little brother!!! Here is how his WOD looked:

Matt's WOD:
-3 Burpees
-5 push ups
-5 sit ups
Matt is a very fast learner, yesterday was his first time ever trying a body squat. Look at him today!!!

Ok, so I wanted to get a workout in early today. What to do, what to do? I have to admit my time on Saturdays burpee/box jump WOD has been driving me nuts and I just can't let it go. I guess that solves my choice of workout!!!
WOD:

My calabash brother Matt came by to start his fitness journey. Started him slow with just form work and a few exercises to get him started. We then worked a little boxing and self defense. He had a little surf shorts blow out during our grappling so he asked if I could tell him where he could get some shorts like mine. Told him that I had a few errands to run then he could meet me at Lululemon!!!


After Matt's session we headed to Waimanalo Feed Supply to pick up some horse stall mats for our gym. They are the same mats that are sold for gym floor use except that they are between $50-$100 cheaper. Picked up four 4x6 foot sheets. They are awesome and a great deal!!!



With the mat's safely in their new home it was off to meet a different kind of Matt. Off to Lululemon to get Matt some awesome workout clothes and visit our beautiful friends at Lulu. As usual we were greeted warmly with hugs and kisses there and Matt got the best help possible. He ended up leaving with three new shorts and a shirt. Another believer made!!!

With Matt all geared up we sent him on his way then we headed to Awakuni Family Chiropractic http://www.ilovechiropractor.com/Chiropractor/Steve-Awakuni-Awakuni-Family-Chiropractic-Honolulu-HI-25901.htm.  I cannot say enough about Steve Awakuni his family, and his staff. They go above and beyond the call to help you out. Lisa always works around my erratic schedule finding a way to get me in, and fixed up. Steve has improved my way of life with the work that he has done on me. I have never been more pain free and healthy as I have working with him. He is truly a miracle man!!! The knowledge, care, and warmth in his office is unmatched. If you have aches and pains I highly suggest you pay them a visit. Tell them Jack Cambra sent you!!!

Back at the house the crew started to trickle into the gym for their workouts. First up was Nadyne and Terry. Here is todays WOD:

Next up was Flo Jo.

And last up for this WOD was Jamie who did her first full workout as prescribed and with a smoking time to boot!!! Awesome job Jamie!!!!


I'm still not feeling the greatest but still wanted to get some work in. Danyelle decided to keep me company during my WOD even though it was her day off, thanks hun!!! Here it is:
